Overview Student Visa Route
- You can apply for a student visa to review within the UK if you’re 16 or over and you: are offered an area on a course by a licensed student sponsor and have CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance ) education provided (university or College)
- Have enough money to support yourself and buy your course - the quantity will vary counting on your circumstances
- You should speak, read, write and understand English
When got to apply
- The earliest you'll apply for a visa is 6 months before you begin your course. This condition applies for application outside the united kingdom
- You’ll usually get a choice on your visa within 3 weeks.

- You will even have to pay the health care surcharge as part of your application.
Money to support yourself (financial requirement)
You’ll get to show you’ve got enough money to support yourself – unless you’ve been within the UK with a legitimate visa for a minimum of 12 months on the date of your application.
How much money you would like depends on where you’ll be studying. You’ll need either:
- £1,265 per month for courses in London (up to 9 months)
- £1,015 per month per month for courses outside London (up to 9 months)
- You must have this money for a minimum of 28 consecutive days. the top date of the 28 day period must be within 31 days of the date you apply for your visa.
- If you've got a student loan or financial sponsorship, you’ll get to provide evidence of this from your loan or sponsorship company.
Fund required For Dependents
- £7605 (£845 multiplied by 9 months) if the University of the most applicant is in London (inside of inner London boroughs)
- If the University is outside London (£6120 (months £680 multiplied by 9 months) (outside the inner London boroughs)
- Current passport or other valid travel documentation.
- Confirmation of Acceptance(CAS) for Studies from your course provider.
- ATAS certificate(Valid) if your course requires it.
- Proof of parental or other trustee consent if you’re under 18.
- Parent/Guardian proof of relationship to you if you’re under 18.
- Your tuberculosis test results.
- Written consent for your application from your financial sponsor if you’ve received sponsorship for your course fees and living costs within the last 12 months.
